Hazel A. Kurth was born April 19, 1920, to Herman and Ella (Kempf) Kuhfeld in Warner, SD. She grew up on a farm near Warner and graduated from Warner High School.

On June 10, 1939, Hazel married Raymond Dahme in Huron, SD, and made their home in Aberdeen and raised seven children. After retirement Hazel enjoyed many trips, including traveling to Arizona. She often gathered with her neighbors at Carlyle Apartments and went to McDonalds. She enjoyed fellowship and the friends she made. She liked playing Domino’s. Her favorite games were Mexican Train and Chicken Foot. She was a member of the Breakfast Club and Senior Citizen Exercise Club. She loved serving her Lord and volunteering at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church as a quilter or anyway she could.
