Obituary for Doug Jewell Tarver

Celebration of life for Doug Jewell Tarver, 60, Aberdeen will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, September 6, 2019 at Spitzer-Miller Fellowship Hall. Doug died Sunday, September 1 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen.

Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. is in charge of arrangements.

Douglas Jewell Tarver was born on July 3, 1959 at Aberdeen, SD to Richard Jewell and LaVerne (Bringelson) Tarver. This is the area where he grew up and attended school. In December of 1978 he married Becky Marzenell, two children Travis and Lance were added to this union. He worked for Hub City from 1987 to the time of his death. For the last few years, he enjoyed his time with his significant other, Bonnie Kolb.

He loved the mountains and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed listening to rock and country music and watching NASCAR. He loved traveling, especially his trips to the west coast. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Grateful for having shared Doug’s life are: sons, Travis (Felicia) Tarver and Lance Tarver; grandchildren, Alex Tarver, Alexander, Ben, and Jacob Bellefeuille, Emery and Ayden Tarver; mother, LaVerne Tarver; significant other, Bonnie Kolb; brother Dan Tarver.

Preceding Doug in death is his father, Richard Jewell Tarver.
